Hi Cooters- Regarding Rel A, does that only require changes to the handset(new MSM-5100 rel 0, 5500 rel 0, 6300 rel 0 & A, 6100 rel 0 & A) or are changes to the infrastructure also involved?

TIA- Jim

re: Release A

==========

Release A, while increasing peak data speeds to 307kbs, has little meaningful effect on average throughput. There is also no gain in capacity.

It will not provide Sprint the data goose Sprint earlier envisioned to delay EV upgrades.

It will be interesting to see if carriers, including Sprint, will bother with Release A at all - or skip it as many carriers did with 95B.

I've seen no word of Release A in Korea, but a move directly to do.

As is often the case, Korea sets the trend.
