So since 1994 (the date of the failed pact according to you) NK has built 2 nuclear weapons and now in six months it is estimated that they can build 2 a month and you think diplomacy has failed I would say, "Containment", to the extent it is "diplomacy", has absolutely failed. Bush needed to escalate this crisis with his careless remarks and aggressive policies? I can say absolutely there were no "careless" remarks with respect to this matter. You really owe it to yourself to read Woodward's book. I believe it represents an honest portrayal of the Bush Administration and its internal processes. Perhaps instead of consistently criticizing Bush, you could come to understand some of the underlying thought processes.
