Hullo Maurice - Jay asked me to let you know, he had to press the Big Reset Button and send his mule to the PC Heaven. He's fine as far as I understand, but his Gateway is through the Pearly Gates, never to look back... Says Jay, you should check for a big Aztec Financial Reset Button on your hardware. The Q switch alone just will not do. Can I just goldplate it? NO

Jay, soon It will look after all such details as your PC Reset. Frequently-used data will be stored in your neurons, less frequently in your RAM, still less frequently in your hard drive, permanent storage and infrequently used [say less than once an hour] will be in cyberspace. My PC Big Resets happen less and less frequently. Format C: used to be a favourite instruction. Now I don't know how to do it. Similarly, major financial resets should involve more in the nature of a glitch than a Russian revolution, Mark I hyperinflation, or Maoistic Long March with total transfer of property other than a few concealed Aztec coins.
