chinton, I don't quite believe it. Historians and moralists like to rewrite history. The Depression was horrible, ergo, the twenties were an immoral time. Not that they weren't. But I doubt that previous times were any more moral. The ancient Israelis and early Muslims always blamed their military defeats on sin and lack of morals. Hey, guys, sometimes it is just lousy generals and poorly trained soldiers. Ditto for bubbles. Sometimes it is just voodoo economics that got us there.
