Good Morning,

Something from your side of the pond:

guardian.co.uk

<Snip>

Colleagues of ex-President Bush were particularly irked by the round-robin they received from George Snr and Barbara this Christmas: "Young George W is getting on just fine in his new job of President of the United States (thanks for the help, Jeb!). He is looking forward to starting World War Three in the new year and Dad has been helping him find Iraq on the old family atlas. Coincidentally, this is also the time that he'll be beginning his campaign for re-election, and as Dubya says: 'I will not be impedemented!' "

<End Snip>

I'm feeling certain that O'Farrell won't be a guest on Limbaugh's show anytime soon.

Cheerio! Ray

It was far from a direct response. Non sequitur was the precise way to define it.

Let me see if I can help illustrate by using an illogical inference based on one sentence of this post.

res -It's good morning here.

"since you didn't speak to me online yesterday, I'm glad I brightened your morning".

See, an illogical inference, not based on anything you wrote, but based solely on your own mental model of what you wanted to believe.

Speaking of "sophistry". :)
