Dori,

The U.S. has an image problem abroad that most Americans simply don't seem to care to address. Here's a good case in point:

tmtmetropolis.ru

The continuous arrogance and self-dealing of the corporate cabal that runs our national government is repugnant to growing numbers of thinking and caring people across the globe. Remarkably, Americans just don't seem to be able to comprehend that the way to create perpetual terrorization of the population is to let the Bush team continue in their remarkably unilateralist approach to world affairs. Of course, the Bushies, for their part, are delighted inasmuch as this reign of terror is custom designed to create vast profits for the arms merchants, the oil majors and the real druglords of the world, as discussed in the Chris Floyd article cited above. Unfortunately, at great cost to a large swath of humanity for the sake of the greedy few.

doribee88. You said....." Raymond..."It is only the aggressive, imperialistic, grossly unfair and anti-democratic foreign policy of the U.S. government that is being opposed by the rest of world.".....

Who is the rest of the world that you refer to? Do you mean our enemies?
