Nicholas; the only thing one could reasonably add to this assessment is the following;
"The Market(i.e Dow)went through it's December 27, 2002 turn-date with slicing force, despite the low volume."

There was relentless selling, but how much of that selling was shorts? The dramatic increase in the use of the Short tool as the preferred Sales tool; ( as opposed to Investors selling shares) Must be made.

In a supply demand market, to fail to distinguish the type or character of the action, can lead to some very faulty conclusions.

I monitor the market through a portfolio of supply imbalances, which are the only means an average investor has to distinguish what type of selling is occurring. Within that context, the downward pressure on these stocks in this portfolio were Shorts, not investors, giving up what they've invested in.

Will this change anything else in your script?

I doubt it and therefore agree with the rest of your prognostication.

Price Suppression for the purpose of accumulation; = low volume selling.
