Ericsson has signed an agreement with PT Telkomunikasi Indonesia (TELKOM) in Bali to supply its CDMA2000 1X infrastructure solutions for 631,800 lines in Indonesia covering Jabotabek area (Jakarta - Bogor - Tangerang - Bekasi).

"We are honored to develop and expand our strategic partnership with TELKOM by providing a new 3G network based on CDMA2000 1X," said Ulf Månsson, president of PT Ericsson Indonesia.

Ericsson will begin network deployment immediately.

"The compact design and industry leading performance characteristics of Ericsson's CDMA2000 1X solution will help TELKOM get 3G services to their customers in the fastest and most cost-efficient way possible," said Åke Persson, president of Ericsson CDMA Systems.
