Where would you put your money during a Bush administration?
This is the true test. I'm getting a bug chunk of cash next week and wonder, where can I TRUST putting it? Home paid off. Real estate prices have to be peaking now. Stocks? I don't see the big Bush boys like Carlyle Group buying stocks. They're taking over bankrupt companies and nmaking oil and weapons deals with their sweetheart contacts. And who else is making money? Not the big mutual funds. Bonds? Many states and localities now are on the verge of bankrupcy. And the energy scandals have made utilities stink. Retailers? Worst year in 20 years and no end in sight. Oil? Prices already above $30 and due to global slow-down Unocal just pre-warned. Cash? T-Bills? Phillip Morris? Maybe liquor companies. This world must be driving people to drink. The fact is 90% of investors have lost their shirts during the Bush Adnministration but still he's telling us everything is hunky-dory and no real policy changes are necessary. Yeah, HIS cronies are doing fine. Carlyle Group is raking it in, per my mother's friend whose son works for them. 40 private jets. Flying to Zurich just to pick out some rare watches for themselves. Enron lives. But it's a private corporation now. with offshore tax haven accounts. The US Treasury gets nothing back from these former Bush and Reagan honchos who use their influence to make billions with the White house slipping them tips.
