I call it decline in the sense that they will become less and less relevant to technology in general and in market share. There are over 5 billion shares out. The numbers are big, but per share they are just OK and I don't see them be able to grow eps, I see flat to decline.

As to the X-box, I hope the family enjoys it. Supercomputers being so cheap and getting cheaper, generally 1k PC's can now do all a gaming unit can do. Don't know if all the software is there yet, but it's only time.

I have not followed the game market.
I just went and spoke with my little guy. He says he thinks the xbox is one of the best gaming systems with some of the best games titles. How much revenue will this mean to msft.???

Overall still see what I call a decline for msft.
The recent Sun Java ruling was a clear loss of the ability to use .net to create another compatibility monopoly.

In any case msft is not bringing anything new to the market that has any impact on productivity.

Cheaper and cheaper pc's, faster and faster communications. That means more have access to more, and faster. msft has nothing to do with that.

Several independent reviews have given mozilla, better functionality reviews over ie.
