I tried to buy 8000 shares of jnpr last week as a long trade, and it took almost 10 minutes to fill.

I assumed there were no long sellers only shorts?

The short ratio on most stocks is not high however, maybe it was just an anomaly.

this would apparently be supported by an increase in the short positions of the comms (relative increase)
