I did almost all of my Christmas shopping online and surprisingly so did my husband and he hates the computer. I'll do some post season shopping off line just to take advantage of the markdowns.

One of the drivers is air travel that has become problematic because of stepped up security. I've heard of a lot of people choosing to have their gifts sent directly so they didn't have to try to take them on the airplane when they were going home for the holidays. What is great about all these online stores is that I get so few catalogues in the mail now. I hated getting a hundred or so mail order catalogues every year, sometimes five or six from the same store.

I'm sure that rate will expand in the next few years. For one thing, this year was penalized for the short season...

Oh puleeeze. Do you really think somebody out there was going to buy Auntie Jane a pullover but didn't "because the season was too short?"
