Kerry is a progressive moderate. Progressive means "forward-looking" and not married to any old ideas which haven't worked. Open-minded and common-sense are other adjectives which work. Honest and straight-forward too. Kerry hasn't voted as a true liberal in many years. He voted to let Bush go to war in Iraq but will hold him accountable if he doesn't work with the UN. He's not as conservative as Lieberman but about the same as McCain or other moderate Republicans, with a strong environmental leaning based on long-term good of our country and not short-term profits and more pollution. I know some of you right-wingers like pollution but most people dont. Buchanon has also found himself agreeing with Kerry recently, as has Fred Barnes. Intelligent conservatives have great admiration and respect for John Kerry. Bush is trying to use some of Kerry's ideas as we speak and try to make them his before 2004. want to call him liberal, fine, but he trancends any such label. He's actually to the right of Bush on counter-terrorism.
