Westi,

Theaters: Only things that I've seen that are outstanding are the Lord of the Rings: Two Towers and Adaptation.

LOTR is a great story and has stunning visuals. So many incredible scenes to talk about, but I am a Tolkien fan so i'll spare you. ;) Only drawback is that its long (3 hrs.). You should also see the first LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring...thats great too and avail on rental now. Adaptation is great too. Wacky, complex, and about a screenwriter coming to grips with his self as he writes a screenplay. Nicholas Cage is great as the writer and his twin brother. If you saw Being John Malkovich and liked that, you'll love Adaptation. Same writer (Charlie Kaufman) and director (Spike Jonz) as that film.

Rentals: I just rented a great flick called 'Nine Queens' too. It was an Argentinian film with subtitles, but its great. About grifters/swindlers and their games. Excellent.

Sounds like Frida looks interesting from some people here. Ill have to check that out. Let me know of anything excellent youve seen/rented lately.

cheers
Robert

"chicago," very entertaining,

2 hrs. of bob fosse/"cabaret" style cinema. gere/zellweger are a real stretch posing as hoofers/singers, but zeta-jones is the real thing.

great choreography..highly recommend.

How about a classic rental?:)

How about "Searching For Bobby Fischer"? One of my all-time favorites.

"Road Warrior" is always worth a re-viewing.

"Kingpin" was an under-appreciated Farrelly Bros release...great raunchy comedy.
