JMHO, but I would look at the companies you really want to own and buy shares in them and them only. Part of the SMH holdings are companies I would never consider; companies with only commodity products such as MU and companies which will never be the leader in their field such as AMD. To add insult to the injury of holding these stocks if one is an SMH holder, a quarterly fee is assessed. Further insult is the fact that this is basically an index fund, and yet is charging a fee like an actively managed mutual fund.

FWIW, I have not fared well over the past 2 1/2 years, but at least I never received a bill:-)
