"Nearly got away with it". Nearly is not nearly good enough. We therefore will try Farley. Farley Mowat to be precise. Or to be fuzzy as possible is more like it. We will use selected passages from Farley Mowats many truthful factoidal memoirs of the world to more meaningfully describe the indescribable potential of our enterpises. Farley almost always got away with it and he has never been sued for lack of versimiltude, ergo we should be able to defend our "honneur de integrite" by saying "you mean you don't believe Farley?
