Europe and Japan way ahead on cleaner fuels programs. Important that we follow quickly. we consume much more than anyone and cannot produce anywhere near what we use even if we drill every last nature preserve in the US, which we should NOT do, much too high a price to pay. The Bushes ties with the Saudis used to be an asset but now they're a liability. In time we need to get off Arab oil first, then all oil gradually, though some will always be useful. Even Newt Gingrich agrees we need to do this ASAP and criticizes Bush for not having a mammoth incentives program underway. But Big Oil owns Bush-Cheney lock, stock and barrel so what do you expect? Window-dressing only, nothing of substance. Even fighting fuel efficiency bills which John Kerry has championed. Arab oil can go and should go ASAP. John Kerry will deliver us from them quickly. It's far more trouble than it's worth and not necessary with a little ingenuity. Conservatives should all agree and try to take back the GOP from the grip of Big Oil and Big Coal pollutors and Arab bed-brothers.
