Bushies have powerful special interests behind them, the most ruthless special interests there are these days; big oil, mega media corps like Fox, an army of spin-meisters dominating radio who gladly pass on and pile up lies and exaggerations not to mention character assasination attacks (whatever the RNC wants they do), HMO's and tobacco, the Dixie political Mafia, Jeb Bush's election cheaters in Florida removing 57,700 and 94,000 thousands of perfectly legal mostly Democrats from voter rolls in a key state, the old Reagan and Bush Sr. group, the Saudis and their royal oil partisans, the right-wing of the military and CIA, the army of religious right fanatics who want crusades against anyone unlike them, the old closet racists, those plunderers of the natural environment like timber cutters and miners, low guel efficiency interests, truckers, even the Teamsters recently. Put it all together with a carefuly woven win at any price Karl Rove type strategy against a more polite and proper Democratic party who tries to take the high road most of the time and you've got a powerful party that can dominate if there is no charismatic Democratic leader or if the Democrats are not progrsssive and forward-looking enough. John Kerry I believe can be that leader. He also has 750 million bucks which negates the GOP's mammoth fundraising machine.
