Her basic premise is correct. Forget the religious ramblings. The idea that the United states is a "Christian" country is wrong. The men and women who founded this country were Christians, Jews, animists (yes, some Africans actually came here of their own volition and owned farms in the colonies - they were animists), Deists, agnostics and atheists. The greatest contribution the Christians made was to politically force the Founding Fathers to permit the continuation of slavery -- lest colonies like Virginia and a few others would not sign the Articles of Confederation forming the United States of America. The states would have been dis-united. FT
