Hello Diana, I think you will be right. To paraphrase Peter Drucker, "what China can make to sell, China will make, and when China makes, it will export". The largest listed (domestic A-share market)jewelry maker and chain retailer in China is the Diamond Group, their chairwoman is Wen Jia Bao (the new premier)'s wife. They appear to have big plans for a potentially big consumption country. They need to get their designers in tune with the world and are also hiring quite a bit of new graduates. Jewelry is not high-tech and are particular vulnerable to copying, without hope of any IP protection. Chugs, Jay
