Exactly my point. Such characterizations have no place leading off a responsible policy piece, other than to inflame the masses.

I merely have to look at the "agreement" that the great "peacemaker", Jimmy Carter forged in 1994, which we abided by to the tune of 500,000 tonnes of fuel oil per year, food, and light water reactor technology, but which apparently Jong, in a beautiful coup, never intended to adher to..

There is certainly no shame in trying to resolve a situation via peaceful means. Humanitarian aid has been the keystone of our foreign policy for decades and rightly so.
Carter had no way of knowing that Jong had no intention of upholding his end of the agreement.

It's no different than dealing with a school bully.. If you show weakness, or permit him to shake you down once for your lunch money, then you know he'll be back down the road...

If the US were again to try appeasement principles with this individual, then the shame would be on us...this time. Not so the first time.
