Our team sucked without McNabb(btw, i had the Eagles game in my mind as odds slightly against us--honest:), but your team sucked with Favre in this nasty weekend in NYC; the point being the Packers problem runs deeper, in my opinion, in the 2nd half i saw a complete breakdown on the offensive line and the defensive line of the Packers. The fact that the Eagles were just a shocking missed field goal away from winning a game they did NOT deserve to win was not an accident. Tiki Barber himself says "i must remember at all times against the Eagles that they are aggressive and accomplished at stripping runners of the ball." Reid had Feeley on a tight leash because as long as he saw a set-up to win 10-7 at the end that was how he was going to play the game. Also, as the Giants realized Feeley can't run , they were able to play a defense against the Eagles that they could never have played with McNabb in the game. But the hard reality for me, on hoping the Eagles could separate themselves from the Giants; this hope has been dashed by the Giants pulling off one of the great draft picks of history(Shockey)--this archrivalry between us and Giants will have no vacation. I just read through the NYT sports section and the message from the players and the coach is singular; Jeremiah Shockey is why the Giant team reversed its' season, they say it is not just realizing he is a class A wide receiver in a monster TE body but also his whole personality has juiced and excited the team.(BTW, his just OVERPOWERING Brian Dawkins on the TD pass, is simply not done by a normal human being:) I guess you saw Herman Edwards say at the beginning of the 2nd half that the Jets must keep pressure on Favre, and not permit him deep drops and then throwing to the left in order to win.(The classic example being the rocket shot he threw to Glenn at the end of the first half) The offensive line of Packers obliged and Favre did not have the time and positioning to throw his "Laser Beam" pass. That is enough yada yada, before i end up writing endless commentary:) Odds say you, the Packers can NOT lose to the Falcons(undefeated in playoffs games at Lambeau Field is an awesome statistic to overcome)--i make Packers 10 point favorites). But Giants could well beat the 49ers in S.F.( i make 49ers 2 point favorites) We will be playing the Giants in 2 weeks in Philadelphia--o baby! that would be a game!!! And you will be playing Tampa Bay in Tampa Bay. For totally SELFISH reasons and a crass desire to see Eagles to get to Super Bowl the easiest way possible, a loss by Packers to Falcons gives the Eagles the falcons as our opponent and Tampa Bay the winner of 49ers/Giants game. But the big problem for us is Reid says there is NO guarantee McNabb will be ready two weeks from now; for you, it will be can Sherman wake your team up as i frankly think they quit in the Jets game. In the end let the best team win it all and that excludes the hardship of injuries excuse-- as that is the grim reality of football.Max p.s. Regards Favre, am i wrong in perceiving a bit of disgust in how his team was playing????
