MONTREAL -- OZ Communications Inc., a leading provider of instant communication solutions to wireless operators, announced today that its suite of products has again been tested officially compliant to the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) 1.1 specifications (formerly Wireless Village). This is based on test results from the third interoperability event certifying compliance to the Wireless Village specifications and the first to be conducted by the OMA. OZ products tested as compliant at this event include the OZ ICS server and a new mobile client for BREW phones.

OZ is now the only vendor to certify both a server and a client at all three interoperability events held to date, which further demonstrates the company's technical leadership and ensures maximum interoperability with other vendors' products. The fact that OZ now has certified J2ME and BREW mobile clients allows OZ to rapidly deploy standardized and interoperable IMPS solutions into any mobile operator environment globally.

"We are extremely pleased with the results of the latest interoperability event as we've once again demonstrated our technical leadership in IMPS solutions within the OMA," said Skuli Mogensen, CEO of OZ. "Mobile instant messaging has the potential to become a major revenue generator for mobile operators and we're well positioned to help operators make that a reality in the near term in a standardized, interoperable way."
