Bharti will respond soon to changing market situation: Mittal

thehindubusinessline.com

NEW DELHI: Bharti Group said today that consumers need not be swayed by various new offerings in the market as the company would respond next month to the changing market situation.

``We will soon respond to the changing market situation, and customers need not be swayed by the various offerings coming in the market'', the Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti, Mr Sunil Mittal, told PTI.

Mr Mittal said that the company would next month chart out a plan of action, aimed at offering customers better value proposition, but declined to give specific details.

``We are committed to providing the best customer value so they (customers) need not worry'', Mr Mittal said.

Bharti was not simply responding to the limited mobility launch by various players, he said, adding that this is owing to the overall changing market situation. WLL is also a part of it but there are many other things happening.

Mr Mittal's comments come in the wake of the launch of limited mobility services by Reliance last week with three schemes, including a three year unique Dhirubhai Ambani Pioneer Offer at Rs 3,000 across 673 towns and cities in the country.

The service, based on code division multiple access (CDMA) platform, would provide messaging, Internet, videoconferencing, music download and movie download services.

Reliance would commence demonstrations of the service on January 15 and bookings by February.

Mr Mittal said that Bharti's plans for increasing value proposition for customers would be a combination of many things.

Tatas also launched limited mobility services in Delhi earlier this month as part of which it is offering a Friends 599 package, where the company would not charge any monthly rental on a monthly commitment of Rs 599 and would offer 400 free local calls.

The security deposit under this plan for local access is nil, for local and STD is Rs 1,000 and for local, STD and ISD is Rs 2,000.

This is in addition to the standard tariff package being offered by the company. - PTI
