Diversification
The 2 great value investors (Graham and Buffet)have/had completely different views on this subject, one picking up the cigarette butts and the other the castles with the moat.

I find my diversification reduces risk but is making for sloppy thinking and its difficult to know the companies as well as I would like to. It also makes those tough decisions (when to sell) harder. I want to think of my portfolio more like a team, keeping the best players and cutting the slackers. Probably the best way would be for me to set a maximum # of stocks and having the discipline to stick to it.
