All the talk about Iraq being so very powerful and dangerous to its neighbours is, IMHO, pure fear-mongering calculated to win fullscale support for the impending war against Iraq.

In the last Gulf War, the Iraqi army was said to the 4th largest in the world and its Republican guards were special crack troops blah, blah, blah, and that the Coalition was facing a very formidable enemy. It was pure BULLSHIT!!! The Iraqis were easily overcome and chased back from Kuwait into Iraq. They gave up without fighting and they prostrated themselves before American troops and begged for mercy!!!

This time around, the US is still using the same propaganda tactic! Iraq has to be made to look far, far more dangerous than it really is to justify an all-out attack. And that clown Saddam (Sodom to you) is enjoying every minute of all the fuss because he is the cynosure of all eyes. He doesn't care if he gets killed anytime as he knows he is assured of a place in history as the Moslem leader who dared defy the might of the West.

The Moslems have a credible point in that the US wants ready access to the oil and have Israel as its watchdog (and more) in the Middle East. Meantime no effort is spared to generate fear and hatred against the "enemy" and create justification and support for the impending attack.

Needless to say, all the bullshit and fear-mongering help sell lots of newspapers and keep a lot of idle minds occupied with endless speculations. Not bad, you know, especially when all that staves off boredom and even depression.

"When he is certain his time has come," said one, "he will launch his doomsday weapon. He wants to go down in history as the man who destroyed Israel."

Saddam will not launch anything, he will order others to launch. If these people follow his orders, they too will be destroyed.

I believe that it is God's will that Israel exist, and therefore it cannot be destroyed. IMO, the evidence is clear, and the Jews would only be scattered.
