AS,
I agree with much of your post. I read somewhere that the Bond film itself offended NK leaders. They must have believed it to be american propaganda. With their paranoid and insular view of the world, this should not be surprising. Where i differ with you is that i believe NK is the exception that proves the rule and that US policy vis a vis other axis of evil nations is correct. I would appease the hell out of the NKs to diffuse this crisis. As long as we remain resolute elsewhere this one case appeasement will be seen as it is and that is a special situation. I wouldnt expect other countries to adopt the insanity label to get american aid--remember the movie "The Mouse That Roared". Mike

AS,

This is tautalogical. You assume they were perfectly nice guys until Bush provoked them.

They must be of incredible intelligence and skill to have developed their weapons in ten months (after the axis-of-evil speech).

On the starvation issue - do you think the leadership is starving? Do you think they give a damn about the average citizen in their own country?

They have needed us to eat and heat (we provide fuel oil) for several years. They didn't keep their part of the bargain and we should continue? Why would anyone keep an agreement with us if we do?

As to John Kerry - what are his statements on this subject? What were his thoughts on the '94 agreement?

John
