Yes Kerry is rich. Necessary perhaps to counter our Fundraiser-In-Chief whose people are squeezing their special interests for as much moolah as possible. Bushies also have a ton of money off the books used to spin away on radio and TV. Their plan in 2004 is to run TV ads which gloss over all the real issues, wave flags, tout Bush as the COmmander In Chief who saved America (even though he ignored terrorism prior to 9-11 and let Usama get away) and pretend we dont have the worst economy since Herbert Hoover. As for similarities to Ted Kennedy, Kerry has none of his personal vices and votes to the center. Kennedy was anti-Iraq for instance and Kerry voted to give Bush the powers so long as he adheres to his promises. If Bush steps out out line Kerry will hold him accountable.
