Make your case for what you call my anti-semtism [sic].

Make your case for what you call Zionism Len...

As far as I perceive it, the Israeli public is currently content to leave the borders the way they are...

They legitimately conquered the Sinai, West Bank, and Golan, in 1967, yet they returned it in exchange for a signed peace treaty with Egypt, as put forth under Resolution 242. They made the same offer to Syria for the Golan, and to Jordan for the West Bank. Yet Syria remains in a state of hostilities (armistice, not a peace treaty), and Jordan abdicated their territorial and political responsibilities for the West Bank, which they had annexed in 1948.

Hardly evidence of a Zionist conspiracy to invade and conquer neighboring Arab states in order to create an imperialist Israeli state.

But do I believe that there are extremists in Israel who would love to kick out all of the Arabs and make Israel strictly a Jewish state? Of course... Just as there are folks in the US who would love to make America for "whites only".. But what are the odds of their gaining power in a vibrant democracy incorporating a marketplace of ideals and interests?? Minimal...

I am afraid you have fallen into a trap Hawk.

The only ones "trapped" here are those Palestinian Arabs who have been manipulated and abandoned by their Arab "brethren" over the decades. Used as pawns in a wider regional "chess game" by cynical Arab powers who have even less political legitimacy than Israeli leaders. Palestinians who are ruled by a corrupt and dictatorial leadership who take their marching orders from other regional powers (in exchange for money and political power).

A leadership which seemed content to permit a portion of their population be used by militant Islamo-Fascists as sacrificial lambs on the altar of Islamic fundamentalism.. To blow themselves up in exchange for monetary compensation for their families who are stuck in this economic and political limbo created by their self-appointed leaders.

It's clearly evident that residents residing in the West Bank would have been much better off had Israel merely annexed the territory. Israeli Arabs are far more prosperous than those residing in any neighboring Arab state. And certainly better off those those currently residing in the West Bank and Gaza..

After all, why should Israel spend money to economically develop a region that they are negotiating to return in exchange for peace??

And you are trapped as well Len... Trapped by a past that you believe can be changed like a dirty pair of underwear. To naively lay blame for the current violence and misery solely on some conspiracy you call Zionism, while exonerating the totalitarian culprits on the Arab side..

Personally, I'm glad that Israel has been there to shake things up and distract the Arabs from unifying under a totalitarian ruler like Nasser or Saddam.. If they weren't fighting the Jews, they would have been vying with one another to dominate the entire Arab world..
