I was surprised to find that SilconInvester has no "Help" button to answer questions like yours. It appears there is no way to research an individuals older posts except by going through the individual threads.

However if you click on the thread header there is a box "go to reply #". This at least allows you to quickly go back to a certain point on the thread and read early messages. They appear in blocks of 30 posts and you can simply read those from the authors you are interest in.

Hope this helps, Jon

There are really only about four active good PM threads IMO besides this one. The original active thread that developed last year was: Subject 33190

I rarely go there anymore and to give you some history (maybe you recall), this monitored thread was established to deal with very disruptive, negative personal attacks that took place on the old thread. Still as far as I'm concerned probably my best stuff was written over there in early 2001, and there are still some good posters who use it. As I tend to avoid chit chat or cheerleading (wasting your time), you could probably just bring up the screen and have pretty good luck just hitting the familiar names going back to about Jan, 2001.

You will also see somewhat active individual stocks threads in certain names that get discussed here. Some examples:
Subject 52643
Subject 51681

I found Gold Monitor to be nearly worthless, and I've never bothered to go back and see if it's improved? Maybe someone else can comment? It had a decidedly bearish tenor just about the time the gold market entered into a bull market after the 255-265 "nuclear winter". You could find my bullish posts for awhile there going back to late 2000.

Other threads that are pretty good. The first, Strictly Drilling II, I used for a while (early-mid, 02):
Subject 51616

A to Z is easily the best news background thread for alternative investment on SI:
Subject 52921

Marcos has a good thread that is a little more easy going and casual that I enjoy reading once in awhile although I don't post there much:
Subject 50521

I feel my best posts in the last half year were here on a thread that never took off, but would have made you a ton a money on the October-Dec, rally:
Subject 53273

And finally the best energy thread, where I've been focusing since last October:
Subject 50987

On the old thread - #Subject-33190 - russ comes along about here - #reply-15070887 - and revitalises the place for a span of about ten months and two thousand posts ... then comes a wave of ad hominem stuff and this moderated thread was begun ... shame the search function here is so limited, that's what it takes to make a database useful .... russ has worked at this like no other at SI .... here's a collection of posts on the magnitude and progress of the holes in the ground that the major producers are so fond of expanding daily -
