Guard selection processes are far from uniform. Records are less than perfect, etc. >>> Agreed. Your facts don't prove any political favoritism. Could have even been the Board trying to curry favor with the Bush family without any prompting. >>> Agreed. I never claimed that anyone called the board in secret to ask for favoritism. Could have been - as you suggest - that they just saw some PR value, or potential for personal gain, in his application.
