The Nasdaq scam went from 5000 to 3400 by Election day 2000.

The broader market fell much less.

Since America woke up to the horror of Bush in November 2000 the carnage has been remarkable. And still the stock market is incredibly expensive.

Unemployment was under 4% in the fall of 2000, now it's officially 6% but of course it's in effect much higher since the labor pool has contracted and scores have simply given up on looking for jobs.
