What if the Iraq War was really just about oil?

What do you mean "IF"? <g>

Imagine that, a war over resources... Kind of like Kerry marrying twice for money... a sad, but possible, reality.

Any chance there may be other reasons for both?

Try reading Pollack instead of Larouche... it may open your mind.

But I doubt it.

id you see yesterday's Ap article about how the five major US oil companies are already making plans to divvy up Iraq's fields? Not for America but for themselves.

Now do you really believe the rest of the world, let alone the powers that have oil interests in Iraq will permit such an event??

But I do see American oil companies forming very close relationships with any new Iraqi government.. But I don't see the US "divvying" up the oil for themselves. There is FAR TOO MUCH rebuilding to be done in Iraq, to be fulled by those oil revenues. Failing to modernize and restructure Iraq will mean losing the ideological and moral battle against the militants.

Make no mistake, I hate Saddam Hussein types but dont we have bigger problems? Like North Korean the awakened tiger?

Since when does the economic stability of the west depend upon N. Korea?? In fact, were S. Korea to fall, it would not have a dramatic impact on the world economy over the long run...

But deny those ME oil supplies to the world and we all have some significant problems.

N. Korea may not be bluffing about attacking the South. But were they to do so, it would be the end of Jong and his government, and China would no longer possess a buffer on its border (unless it opted to invade again). Thus, does China really want this situation to get out of control and create a situation where all of their exports to the US are terminated?? I don't think so.. (I could be wrong though).

Btw, I'm a big believer in pursuing alternative energy sources so that we're not held hostage to middle east oil. But that will take decades to fully implemented.

Hawk

Please post it.

After that how about posting the sources for the Larouche article you posted on the other Foreign Policy thread?
