I lived with them in peace until 9-11. Everything I have read or seen since then has formed my opinion. They are a nasty plague that must be eradicated.

Zonder, you have been a proponent of moderate discourse on Islam, suggesting that it is a kind religion worthy of much praise and that the negative attacks on it by others are offensive, incorrect, etc. I am wondering how would you explain the apparent strive all along the borders of the Islamic world? How is it that while terrorists aren't all Islamic, only Islamic terrorists are greated by cheers in the streets. I didn't see any members of the Christian right cheering when McVey did the Mora building, I didn't see Jews jumping for joy when a Jew attacked Muslims after prayers, to the contrary, in almost every incident of terror where Islamic terrorists are not the culprit, their kin seem appalled at the actions of the crazy, but in the Islamic world the crazies are deemed as Shahid's. You've argued that Checnia is not religous, well I feel you are in error. It may have started out otherwise, but it has become relgious. How do you square your view of Islam, especially from your unique perspective, having come from the region, with the viewpoint as seen from the shores of the US viewing the world through the telescope of Western media, which I might add is trying to portray the Islamic world in the peaceful light you claim it has. They just haven't been successful with many people including me! bill
