You didn't happen, by any chance, to hear about a little snafu called the Iran/Contra affair did you? There are two principles in play in that sentence, the ends and the means. I have no problem and I doubt that anyone has a problem with the ends, sic free the hostages. The problem "principle" is with the means to achieve it. If I compare those against the principles associated with Iraq during the Reagan and Bush Adminsitrations, at least we had one principle that was worthwhile. jttmab
