What the left doesnt get at all is that oil is important. We need not make excuses for that fact. It is true and Iraq in our sphere of influence will be a good counterweight to Saudi arabia.
Also if there were regional powers in the region like China, Japan, SKorea and Russia vis a vis NK, we might be able to contain saddam. The real problem with saddam is that once he gets nukes, and delivery systems he can control the region and its oil and he certainly would do so. After all that has been his goal. Thats why we have to eliminate him or keep him in the box forever. And i view it as impossible to keep him in that box forever without force staring him in the face and we cant be mobilized forever to do this. MIke
