You would suppress my views and take my freedom simply because I disagree with you. Your type betrays American democracy to control people through fear and rhetoric.

Exactly right........its his way or the highway.

You are unpatriotic...not me.

And undemocratic.........he likes the democratic way so long as everyone votes for the person he wants.

This is your typical crock of $hit. Gore is not even in the radar screen on this topic. You want answers? Rread the administration's doctrine of pre-emption, follow the actions of the Justice department, become objective about Iraq and North Korea and the sorry state of the Palestinian situation.

Your statement doesn't comport with the facts. One need only recall that prior to 9/11 the level of division in the country was FAR HIGHER than it is today. The Democrats were making every effort to capitalize on a close election where Bush narrowly defeated Gore. Gore's attempted theft of the election simply gave the Democrats fodder to pump up their masses.

There continues to be vast support for Bush's policy, which is to be expected, since war tends to be unifying. But the Democrats have made EVERY EFFORT to divide the nation, both before and after 9/11, and the Gore Attempted Theft is a key element of it. Daily, you can still hear Democrats asserting that Bush didn't really win the election.

This is the slime you sling. "If you disagree with my political views, you are unpatriotic and therefore against America".

Not at all. Disagree with ME all you want. But when you routinely take sides with our enemies it DOES begin to look anti-American.

You would suppress my views and take my freedom simply because I disagree with you.

I have never suggested your views should be suppressed or that your freedom should be taken. In fact, I encourage you to express your views by virtue of the fact I come here and argue with you about them.

This alarmist attitude is the same thing you pull on dealing with the war. Perhaps if you drank less caffine...

Alighieri Re..This is your typical crock of $hit<

Frankly, both sides are. There is no way the split now can be compared to the split caused by the Vietnam way, and or the impeachment proceedings. Both the legislature and executive branches are under one party now, and the largest number of people on record favor the presidents course of action on the war. Just what split are we talking about here; the one on this board?

Rread the administration's doctrine of pre-emption,

You may be against it, but he country isn't. And any general will tell you that any country is better off fighting a war on the enemies territory. It is far better to be killing the enemies civilians than ours, it is far better to be destroying the enemies property and assets, than let them come here and destroy ours. It quite often easier to destroy the source, rather than try to intercept near the target. That is not to say we should give up trying to intercept before the target, but rather to say, to do both is the better.

follow the actions of the Justice department,

Who are you trying to kid with that statement? Even your overbearing guru, Bill came out several wks ago and said the the dems would have to get on board with tough antiterrorism measures if the dems wished to regain the confidence of the american people. The split you are talking about here is between the dem. party and the people, not the Justice Dept and the people.

become objective about Iraq and North Korea and the sorry state of the Palestinian situation.

That is really funny that you should mention NK. It was just on Bloomberg this AM, Parsegian, the stock market analyst, said the NK situation is seen now as a extortion attempt by NK and the markets are starting to play it that way. Every article we read seems to also say that. Why are your scare tactics credible anymore.

The Palestinian terror bombings actually have created sympathy in the US for Israel, and most Americans, congress included, still favor getting rid of Saddam. Even the UN has passed resolutions ,1441 for instance, and the other day, both Blix and Powell said the vaunted " material breach violations" words, solidifying The US position in the world. Just what big split, can you support with proof. The split you are talking about seems to be between the dems policy positions, and the voters, not between GW and the people.
