I am not sure about Daimler, Lizzie ... but consider this if you will ... auto company management (especially GM and Ford who are the biggest U.S. manufacturers) demanding significant reductions in lay-off benefits AT THE EXACT TIME they intend to lay-off tens of thousands ... what do you think a 3-6 month national UAW strike would do to a fragile economy?

As I said however, I am not at all sure of the timing of the Master UAW contract.
