<< The buying spree on BAY by Penson Financial just 10 minutes before the close has to mean something.>>

Hope so. I bought back in with a small position a couple of weeks ago, on the assumption the deal will probably go through. The spike in the silver price today also helps. Looks promising...

Howy

Claude:

After a couple of years on the sidelines with this one, I've taken a small speculative position in ITF on Toronto -- now called Freegold Ventures after a 4 for 1 consolidation a few months ago. Have you taken a look at it recently? With the POG moving up it's one of those companies that have been dormant for a few years but IMO could spring back to life.

ITF was written up by Lawrence Roulston recently. I assume he's on Harry Barr's payroll for this report -g-, but he has had some very good picks over the last year or so. Anyway, their exploration at Golden Summit in Alaska seems to finally be showing promise, and I understand that their Almaden project in Idaho (500,000 oz ITF resource) is under review and may be found to be economic at $350 gold.

The market cap is only about $7.5 million (Can) fully diluted -- less than $5 million US -- so that would be about $10 per oz in the ground at Almaden, plus lots of exploration potential in Alaska.

I'd appreciate your opinion -- and of course comments from others. And a happy and prosperous New Year to everyone btw!!

TIA,
Howy
