Godot,
thx alot. Actually this type of exchange is the type I would like to encourage because it amounts to enabling ourselves to sharpen our tools and skills..

On your quest for "book value" I cannot recommend you a single resource but more a "strategy". I would use some bankruptcy-related literature, something a consultant would resort to when trying to assess economic value. The same principles should apply. In all BKs there's usually an appraisal for the "worth" of the company before any plans of reorganizations are stipulated. This "Fresh start" appraisal of course forms the basis of the first Book Value that is reported in the primary balance sheet after the plan is consummated. That's the resource I would use..

Wrt. English, I love this language because of its efficiency. See, when you buy any book, let's say on economics in the English original version and in a German translation, usually the English original is more than 20% shorter (in pages) than the German counterpart. I hate the clumsiness of my own language. And the vocabulary part that you put forth, I find particularly interesting. That is quite news to mew..

all the best and happy new year 2003 !

re: Telecom Microeconomic Link

in preparation of my thesis I stumbled over
a very interesting link on Telecommunication
microeconomics.

Nicholas Economides, Stern Business School
stern.nyu.edu

- an authority on economics of networks
- and a sharp shooter against monopolistic practices, particularly by ILECs

all the best
