Ted Re..I am very clear what the end game is......disabling al Qaeda. And I have been clear about this issue from the get go. However, you, Ray, Harris et al don't want to hear it because its the not the easy way to go; its not the one that will reassure your man's reelection in 2004.

As for the rest of the end game, its really pretty simple.
.

Whoa not so fast here. Just how do you plan to disable Al Qaeda? Blow up a few more tents, Talk nice to Saddam, build a few more mosques and schools so the clerics can preach more hate. I would like to hear some details, that is where the pudding is, in the details.

The other day you posted that we should concentrate on intercepting the terrorists at the border. And while that may be a fine plan for stopping some damage to this country, how does that disable Al Qaeda from blowing up Bali,Checneya or Kenya; in fact how does that disable Al Qaeda at all. Think about it. If we were to capture suicide bombers, all we have done is stop the bombers from committing suicide and doing some damage. It does nothing to disable Al Qaeda. Al qaeda had already figured on losing those men already, that is the concept in suicide. To disable Al qaeda, you must get the leaders at the source, so they can't send any more men.

We need good diplomacy to keep the NK jerk off in line......the idiot doesn't want to start a war [he doesn't dare with China sitting right on top of him] but rather he wants to maintain the lifestyle that he's grown accustomed to......and his life,

Absolutely. Who would be the best to apply this diplomacy you want so much; the countries who have the most influence, which in this case is China, and Russia, SK and Japan. They are NK benefactors, trading partners, and in NK sphere of influence; and as such, they will be damaged more than us if NK detonates a bomb. What is wrong with letting them run with the ball once in awhile. In this case, it is smart diplomacy.

of course; the Yemenese and Pakistani leaders is a fascist and we need to stop consorting with assholes period;

Agreed, all in due time. Saddam is the worst of the bunch, so we start there.

keep Saddam on a short lease until he is deposed or dies;

Even if Saddam is deposed or dies, how can you be so sure, someone even more ruthless won't take his place. And wouldn't the war effectively achieve what you are proposing plus give us a chance to install a democracy.

we must have a more balanced policy towards Israel and Palestine [that means a lot less aid to Israel]and use whatever influence we have to engineer a peaceful solution

Or it could mean giving more aid to Palestine, which we will once they stop the suicide bombing. What is it with you guys? You spent all last wk, defending MUrrays statement that we should give more aid to the middle east, and now you want us to cut off aid. The 2000 accords reportedly did include a huge increase in aid to the Palestinians, all the Palestinians had to do was denounce and stop the suicide bombing, they couldn't or wouldn't do it.

we need to butt out and let the Iranians determine their own future..........

And AFAIK that is GW's plan for the time being. Have you heard otherwise. Link please.

Roosevelt's philosophy.....walk softly and carry a big stick......its now.

Maybe you young whipper snappers don't understand the "carry a big stick" part. If Teddy had experienced a 9/11, you can be sure he would have done more than carry that stick.

So don't go off saying liberals don't have an approach to these problems.

It's not just me, even your buddy Bill is saying it. Fill in the details with a credible plan, then say that.
