This is ridiculous. Ms. Murray's comments were controversial only to those who chose to interpret them that way.

Your right it is ridiculous. She is free to say what she wants. She is not being censored if a school or a school district doesn't want her to speak at a state function.

Anyone's comments are controversial only if someone interprets them that way. Controversial merely means that they caused a controversy. If a lot of people object there is a controversy so they are controversial.
