Yes, four large Indian software companies set up shop in Shanghai in the last few months. China is targetting software.

I've heard rumors that some of the Indian outsourcers are starting to set up shop in China (infy?) So it is happening. Dunno how successful it will be. Then again I'd always thought this mass outsourcing would be a big fad and die out quickly, so what do I know. Sandeep Well, I'll go back to Bill H's prior point which is, there is always another "cheaper producer" for outsourced goods somewhere. To an american worker, it doesn't much matter whether it is india or china. If china is indeed cheaper than india then I assume this is an issue for india. I don't think mass outsourcing will die out quickly but I definitely think it is a fad- and likely to suffer the same fate of the last "mass outsourcing" situation we had in the USA (then it was production)- companies overinvested in outsourced production in the 80s and paid dearly for it. I've already seen 2 telltale signs of the same issues- first, companies like AMAT are choosing to outsource their problems (this won't work), second a few companies who are outsourcing now are complaining that "business requirements weren't met" with an outsourced product- duh WRT china, the copyright situation means generation zero software will never be developed there imo.
