Lord of the Rings part 2 grosses over 200 million in less than two weeks. It should outrun Spiderman.

Just maybe, someday, the folks that keep such numbers will realize that the Lord of the Rings is a single movie.

Fellowship of the Ring had over 300 million US about 800 worldwide (including the US). Then sold over 35 million copies of the DVD and a few VHS also. That puts it up to well over 1.5 billion.

And that's just the first third of the film.

The gross from The Two Towers should be even greater than it was for FoTR.

The last installment will be even greater.

4.5 billion gross for a film ..
