I heard dollar is down 15% since Bush took office.
So much for our dominant economy.

After how much of a gain since 1995 (when a certain party took control over the House of Representatives)??

Things don't always go up. In fact, I suggest the USD has been too strong and it has greatly exacerbated our trade deficit since US goods have been too expensive vis-a-vis foreign goods. It has made us too dependent upon foreign goods.

But one aspect that should favor the declining dollar will be Latin and Canadian markets who have free trade agreements with the US.

And quite possibly, although it is far too soon to know for sure, we may be seeing some of the first steps towards the long anticipated creation of global trading blocs (Europe, Americas, and Asia)..
