We know that the hallmark of communist regimes planning is to throw capital and labor at the economy. It didn't work for COMECOM countries and they eventually collapsed. China is doing it.

Bit with a significant difference: Not to prove it a workers paradise or using the proceeds to show prestige at Olympic Games or at an arms race. It is doing by taking exports markets by storm. That is the difference.

Being it the only game in town, outsiders are happy to oblige!

thanks for the article. I remembered there was an article from Asiaweek 2 some years ago titled "the United States of China". Seems a wise prediction.

There is a small error in the Business Week article.

SNP is a Chinese company, not a Taiwan company.
