so let me get this straight- 400,000 new claims for unemployment benefits EVERY WEEK? Does that directly translate into "1.6 million new people are being laid off every month"

Not to mention how many people are already unemployed, but doesn't 1.6 million people being canned EVERY SINGLE MONTH seem a little bit high? thats half of one percent of the entire US Population, being freshly laid off, every month.

looks to me that

S&P, NDX and dollar opened gap up then fluttered down

a lot of work went into keeping them up. play of the day may have been shorting pre market ..
