Actually, reaper, my favorite thing on briefing this morning was...

08:02 ET S&P futures vs fair value: +7.5. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: +11.0. : Futures trade denotes a positive bias that should translate into a higher open for the cash market... Sizable gains in the European bourses and optimism surrounding the stock market's prospects in 2003 are lending support to the upbeat tone.

Now, just when did this optimism kick in? Clearly no one was optimistic last week, as we declined. Must be all the year end punditry.

Briefing is truly smelly. I find it hard to believe that anyone, even the bulls, give them much credibility.
