intc -50%
csco -25%
msft -20%
dell -3%

On another note, local large high-tech companies have started hiring in Dec (in the face of a GS report that put forward a gloom-doom report on IT.)

Thats what I am seeing, a small amount of hiring. Hotjobs has some companies that added 20 or so jobs in the last week of december (strange time) too. But I am software, where this hiring is in the face of massive outsourcing too. Are you seeing hiring in the chip industry?

PS agree about new years. Usually new years is a non-event for myself and friends... not this year, we are so glad to get away from 2002 this one was quite a celebration.. :-/
