Thanks to all for the replies on my China questions. China has the potential to undermine a lot of existing euro and US businesses for a while. It is at an intersting stage because they have the power to be a serious competitive force but the inevitable resulting surge of demand from the Chinese consumers will not be big enough to offset this for a while. That's just my uneducated take. I have no particular knowledge of the Chinese economics or politics so appreciate the comments from those of you that know better.
